Awaké
“Every little act matters”
Awaké Foundation is a social enterprise headed by members of the Abdulkadir Family. They provide a free service connecting those who wish to give, be that monetary or otherwise, to those in need.
Started in 2020, Their mission is to use their platform to spread awareness and support their communities, they provide aid to a wide range of people, including the elderly, children in orphanages, poor families, as well as the mentally and physically challenged.
As a family of 12 children, their parents instilled in them a strong desire to share and care for each other from an early age. They’ve spent more than half their lives apart from each other due to age gaps, boarding schools and universities in different parts of the world, yet their parents’ priority in life was to ensure regardless of the distance between them, they still supported each other, upheld their beliefs and tried to leave a positive impact on the world.
Awaké Foundation started off as a simple pact between siblings to donate a portion of their salaries or allowances monthly to provide for those in less fortunate circumstances. “Every little act matters” came from the initial idea to do as much as possible to leave a positive impact on the world, but to never disregard the little acts of kindness that takes very little from us, but could mean the world to the less fortunate.
These acts are the most important to our goal, and as we have connected with so many people all over the world, we aim to provide an information hub connecting potential donors with charitable causes.

APRIL – MAY 2022
Location: Benue State
Amount Dispersed: ₦148,000
Insecurity has, unfortunately, been getting worse in Nigeria. There’s been an increasing number of kidnappings by both bandits and Boko Haram, as well as terrorising attacks in communities and villages, which have led to displacements of the residents of these areas. We, Awaké Foundation, decided to go to one of the Camps for the Internally Displaced Persons in Nigeria to provide what little aid we could. The Internally Displaced Persons of Daudu Camp in Benue State, Nigeria has a population of 5451. We provided them with 150kg worth of Guinea Corn, and 100kg worth of Corn at ₦148,000.
Due to the large number of people, the food we provided would not sustain them a month, as we usually aim. However, we do hope that it helped make a difference.
We really appreciate the love and support we have been getting from you. Every little act matters.
