2020 ISNS Summer Program

One of the biggest projects that I’ve had during my time has been operating a month long summer program in Shenzhen remotely from Singapore. This program had over 400 students and 70 staff members during the peak of Covid-19. Come take a look at what all went into it, including some articles written about the program.

2022 Harrow International Program

Even in 2022, Covid-19 still presented challenges here in China. While continuing my work with PacificPine, I was able to work as the Director of Operations alongside Harrow staff in creating a 2 week, nearly 200 student program that gave back to parents and students for time lost yet again due to covid. Only this time, I was in charge of all hiring. This consisted of almost 30 staff members (Teachers, Assistants, Swim Team) as well as being on-site during the actual program.

Director of Operations | Harrow International School

    Shenzhen, China

My last role for PacificPine Sports was working in liaison to Harrow International School coordinating and directing an 8 day Summer Scholar Program just shy of 200 students grades Pre-Nursery through Year 2. This role provided many challenges in the fact that I was mainly in charge of finding, interviewing, and hiring close to 30 staff for this program in a span of only a few weeks. I also was in charge of creating the schedule for all staff and students along with distributing the curriculum to everyone.

As with any project, this one took many twists and turns and fortunately because of a wonderful staff that I was able to work with, we were able to bring together a fantastic program for the school and their students.

    Director of Basketball Operations

    Beijing, China

After my time in Singapore, I was requested to head to Beijing as Covid-19 crippled our staff and many were still unable to return. Reluctant at first, Beijing turned out to be my favorite city in China due to making friends that turned into family.

With no current staff in place in Beijing, my objective was to stable the ship while also creating new opportunities for potential clients to come to our program. I worked alongside the International School of Beijing (ISB)  to add a youth basketball program for three different age divisions (U12, U10, U8) Our goal was to prepare students both mentally and physically for the challenges that await in Middle and High School Sports. Our team was able to bring on close to 50 new athletes into the program and built several lasting relationships with families, staff, and community members.

Director of Operations | International School of Nanshan Shenzhen

    Singapore

During my time in Singapore, I was tasked with the creation and running of a large Summer Scholar Program remotely in liaison with the International School of Nanshan Shenzhen. Having Covid-19 run limiting entry back into China, my staff and I were in charge of finding in total 12 qualified teachers in different regions of China and bringing them to Shenzhen to partake in this month long program.

Along with these duties, our team was successful in creating a schedule for over 400 students and 70+ staff that followed all the Covid-19 prevention measures and restrictions. This program brought along many different challenges that I had never experienced before. With those challenges, I was also presented with many new opportunities that arose.

    Director of Basketball Operations

    Singapore

During the Covid-19 Pandemic, I was asked to see the potential of expansion of the company in Singapore. Our journey started out positively as we had the fortunate opportunity to run a 3 day clinic for 50+ coaches for the Basketball Association of Singapore. This allowed us to network and build relationships with many in the basketball community there.

Some of this networking led to conversations about running potential programs within newly opened schools. However, as such with the pandemic, it had finally reached Singapore and restricted the country for a better part of 2 years. Any hopes of what was envisioned were now delayed till the future.

Keep on Learning

One of my biggest thoughts is that no matter where you are at in life, you should always keep learning. There are many skills and ideas that I have no idea about. However, that doesn’t prevent me from stepping out of my comfort zone to try and learn. From learning Chinese to even making this website, I’ve struggled to understand and grasp concepts, but I never give up on trying to learn them. Always have a good mindset and keep moving forward!
